Chrissy came over after I went to Lisa's for a huge dinner and we smoked. I was sitting on a bar stool really hunched over with terrible posture. I think a mixture of my posture and lots of food in there made baby squished. I felt this little swish over by my left hip. Not next to it, still in my uterus, but definitely the left side of my uterus. It felt like a fish tail swishing against my uterus, but a little firmer than that. i know it wasn't gas. :)

Heard Baby's Heartbeat for the First Time
Laid down on the bed and midwife applied doppler and goo. It took her a bit to find the heartbeat. We heard mine quite clearly and I thought a couple times i heard the faintest quick beat of the baby, but we couldn't find it. then we heard a big whooshing sound, which was the baby moving, and there it was! 164BPM and the most amazing sound ever. I couldn't believe it. Baby moved around a few times, which we heard, and the heartbeat was clear and strong. So amazing, I can't believe it!! :D

First Ultrasound
got the ultrasound at 10am. saw the gestational and yolk sac, and maybe a tiny shadow that could've been the fetal pole, though it's way early. not ectopic! my uterus looked beautiful :) david got teary eyed. love him.

Announced Pregnancy to Family
everyone knows on the reagan side now. kay cried because she knows how much my grandmother would love this baby.

First Prenatal Appointment
met with midwife lisa coomer and it was pure love! david loves her too. she also offered to apprentice me and let me attend births in the mean time, and later when i'm doing my clinicals. wonderful woman! thanks to her, we will be able to stay closer to home for longer.

First Positive Pregnancy Test
The night before, we had sex and I had really intense cramping. I just knew. The next morning, I tested and it was super faint. Later that night, a digital confirmed! Using progesterone cream to help this baby stick! Grow, baby, grow!On August 10, 2014 at 3 weeks 4 days pregnant
Told Husband/Partner
He was in complete shock, and then he had to leave for work/home. The next day, I gave him a letter explaining how he was the best person i could have possibly chosen to go down this path with, how i have known since day one he is my true partner in life. Before i could give him the letter, he told me the same thing but had the balls to say it with his mouth instead of his hand. That's okay. I want him to have that token. We are absolutely thrilled!!
