Q: When do they get more intense???

5 hours ago I started having painful contractions. I've had Braxton hicks for the last 3 weeks but these are now painful and accompanied by radiating back pain and period pain. They started off at 30mins apart, then 20mins now they are 15mins. They make me stop and concentrate but not the excruciating pain I thought they are "supposed" to be. Is it because I could still b in early labour and they will get more intense as I go along??? Hope this isn't a false alarm!!

ridiculous that I am still conracting 5-7 mins with radiating back pain and i'm supposed to just "relax" .... midwife said i could be like this for a day or a week as its just braxton hicks and i'm in the early stage where my body is prepping......

I know i'm probably having hormonal rage right now, but since when were braxton hicks regular, painful and progressive?? I'm so confused.

hang in there! If you think you need to be in the hospital..go. You know your body best. Try to rest..your baby is making her/his way. FOR sure!

your in labor! yay!!! So heres my advice....When I got that nesting panic type need to do things..is when I believe I began stressing my body out with my 2nd baby. I stayed up late..cleaned..walked..and walked..and walked..lots of sex(sorry for the tmi)..I could not stop moving..I started contracting like you 5 DAYS before going into labor. the night before going into labor I was exhausted from not giving myself a mental and physical break..SOOOOOOO..heres my advice..try to let your muscles, your brain, and your emotions relax. I believe that the second i gave up on going into labor by body said..awwww..thanks. My muscles stopped being tight and that allowed the baby to settle way into birth canal and head out. :) lol..watch movies..take a bath..have hubby rub you down..read a book..have hubby cook dinner..or order in...and Im guessing that will be just what the doctor ordered. I know it contradicts what most say..but, I will be doing it this time around and testing my own theory. GL!

Sorry I don't have any advice for you... Just wanted to say good luck, and wishing that all goes smoothly. I don't have any experience to draw from, but it sounds like labor to me. Hoping things pick up for you! Keep us posted!

Rang my midwife earlier and explained what had been going on... She said they don't ask women to come in for checkups but stay active and ring later if they get closer together or pain is unbearable!
So I went for another nap. I already frantically scrubbed my bathrooms this morning in fear baby was arriving! They are still at 10 mins and I think I have got used to the pain, it's intense pulsing and radiating but if they aren't getting closer I am lost ??? It's now been 26 hours since I started all this? Any advice?

Have they gotten more intense yet? My husband was told that when my head starts spinning around like the exorcist...lol...then thats how you know its labor time. With each one he waited for it and sure enough..he read the crazy signs. More serious. My breathing got deeper, and the pain is something you can not hold back without your hubby seeing it all over your face. You will know at that point if baby is coming. Good luck. Update us. Congrats.
