Sounds like your maternity leave is 12 weeks. As nice as it sounds to take leave early at 33 weeks, having 5 weeks at home once baby is born isn't that much. You're not going to want to go back to work probably and still be so tired!! I have an exhausting job, too, where I'm on my feet 12+ hours every shift and it sucks!! Maybe try to wait it out as long as you can and take leave at 36-37 weeks so you get to enjoy your little one before you have to go back to work. As always though, you know what is best for your family and you have to do what you feel right doing! Good luck!! :)

Do what you think is best for you, i finished at 34wks mainly due to having GD but i'm so glad i did i'm due to be induced next week at 38wks and i'm so relaxed and feel really rested. You dont say if your in the UK or elsewhere so not sure how much maternity you'll have but personally if your rested before baby arrives you'll have the strength for labour and beyond

I know exactly how you feel!!! I am a food service director but I still have to cook for large events. Being in front of a stove or grill for hours is exhausting, and you are on your feet all day as a chef. If you have the maternity to take early I wouldnt blame you for taking it!
