Q: Has anyone had an issue with their Natera (NIPT) blood panel not being covered by their insurance?

I just got a bill for $5,600. Suffice to say, I'm freaking out. I live in central Pennsylvania and have UPMC insurance. I go to and had the bloodwork done at a UPMC hospital and not a single nurse or anyone gave the slightest notion that it wouldn't be covered by UPMC insurance. EVERYBODY I know is getting this testing done and I haven't heard anyone complain about cost/insurance issues. Have you had any similar problems? How did you resolve?

Oh wow. That is crazy. Have you tried calling your insurance company to figure that out. I will be having the same test done in a little over a week and i asked the lady at my doctor office how much it was and she said around 90$. I hope you can have it figured out because that seems way extreme of a price for the test to be done.
