Q: What should i do about college?

Before i realised i was pregnant i started college earlier this month on the 14th September. Im studying my diploma in beauty therapy and love it.

Ive spent a fortune on my uniform and kit and now ive found out im pregnant (3 days ago), and dont know what to do. I would like to carry on until i get too big or too close to my due date but i dont know whether that'll make everything awkward for me?

Everyone ive spoken to has recommended me to stay on and talk to someone in hope of them working around me, my fiance thinks i should quit until next year, im 22 and my fiance is 25.

Does anyone have any advice on this, or has anyone studied when pregnant and passed successfullly?

schools offer hold over for medical reasons and family emergencies.if you inform the school you have found out you are pregnant and don't want to use the chemicals. they'll hold your enrollment and you can pickup where you left off the following year.

I'm all for everyone staying in school. I started my Masters degree knowing that I was pregnant. But, most people in the beauty and hair industry go on mat leave early because the chemicals pose a serious health risk to the baby. I think you should find out what chemicals you will be exposed to and then decided.

I think that is great advice. Stay in it for as long as you can and it still be healthy for you and the baby. Push through and get what you can done. You will be happy you did in the long run. It will also keep your mind off the crazy things that will happen to your body. Enjoy this time being pregnant and working on your degree. Good luck!

DO NOT QUIT. It is so difficult to go back to school, no matter your age, but once you have a baby to be responsible for, it will be so much harder still. There is no reason your pregnancy should keep you from class. Pregnant women get up and go to work, holding down sometimes 2 or 3 jobs and also go to class. The first trimester is hard because you will feel so tired all of the time, but force on through it. Please, please...do not quit school. This baby will be a blessing...in 9 months. And, listen, I'm not hoping anything bad on you at all, but until you get through the first trimester, there is a chance of miscarriage, so if you quit, and then miscarry, you'll be nowhere. Just stick to it. Professors are very understanding of these things. You can do it!
