Q: First ultrasound?

How far along were you at your first ultrasound and did you see the babys heart beat? I have my ultrasound planned for 8 weeks and 3 days so like 2 1/2 weeks from now but Im just wondering what I should expect.

Thanks again everyone but I recieved a call last night from my doctor who said she also sees a blood sac below the gestational sac. She said its very common and I am trying my hardest not to worry but its super hard.

My first ultrasound was at what I thought to be 5 weeks or so (I was a little over a week late for my period, so logically I would be 5 right?) but all we could see was the sac, doctor said I was less than 4 weeks (which I thought wasn't possible since I was more than a week late and there should be no way for me to know I'm pregnant if I'm less than 4). The only reason I got that one was to double confirm the pregnancy (I already had multiple positive home and doctor test, and a hcg test as well) and to make sure I wasn't miscarrying because I was having cramping. My second was 9 weeks 4 days but it measured a week ahead at 10w3d, there was a definate heartbeat and we got to hear it.

I had mine yesterday at 10w3d. I was out of the country so they had to postpone it. It was great though, because I was able to see the legs and arms wiggling and lots of movement. They were able to check the heartbeat, but they didn't play it out loud. It was a great appointment, and I was able to get print out pictures and a disk of the pictures after words. Each doctor office could be different, plus you are a few weeks behind so they might not be able to see as much. Good luck!

My first ultrasound was at 7 weeks and we saw the flickering grain of rice but it was too small to hear anything. Had my second ultrasound last week at 12 weeks and we finally got to hear it.

My only ultrasound was at 20 weeks. Its the only one the office I goes to will let you have. They do a whole check up on the baby to make sure everything seems to be developing.
