Q: 20 weeks pregnant and going back to work?

A bit of background. I went on holiday when I was approx 6 weeks was back at work for a few days at 8 weeks & currently have been signed off ever since.
I've been struggling with my migraines & headaches & have since been diagnosed with diabetes (doctors think I was diabetic before getting pregnant as my levels were really high but this will be confirmed later)
I've been going to the hospital for diabetic appointments & my levels have been getting better.
The last time I was at the doctors he signed me off for a month taking me to tomorrow. My headaches are still there although I do try and just "deal" with them more, but just feel crap. I know they will probably get worse as i get further along.
I do feel better but have no energy etc. Do I go back to work on Tues? The doctor took more bloods when I last went (at the hospital) and nothing come through so guessing everything is ok. I'm still depressed with the diabetes & stuff.
I'm just so down,

I really don't think anyone can answer this but you. Only you know how severe your headaches and fatigue are. You need to do what is best for you and your baby - don't go back to work if you are not feeling well enough just because you feel guilty.

On the other hand, if you do think you can work through feeling tired and dealing with headaches, it may make you feel better to get out of the house and do something.

I'm a type one diabetic and I just started back up working at roughly the same time. If you feel that you're prepared to go back to work, then by all means you should! But if you're feeling low energy and just plain crappy, you may want to take the time to get back to feeling better.

It's important that you drink lots of water, not just for your pregnancy but for your diabetes as well. It keeps your kidneys working at their best and can help flush toxins out a little bit better. You may want to try keeping an eye on your ketones as well as your diet. If you don't have one already, get an appointment with a dietician. Mine has kept me where I need to be even before pregnancy. I've also gotten in touch with a social worker to help me find resources for support groups and potential therapy. I'm in the process of setting up some sessions. Sometimes having someone to talk to can alleviate a little bit of your stress. Best of luck!
