Q: SMP and work?

just wondering if you leave your job do you still get SMP. i've had my letter to say how much i will get, but because of my husband being in the raf and not knowing when he'll go on tour, and that fact i can't work when he's at work because we don't have anyone to look after little one and we don't want to pay for child care as it would cost more then i'd get in my wages.

It depends on when you leave. I think it has to be after your 25th week. Go to this website: https://www.gov.uk/maternity-benefits put in your details and it'll give you a personal breakdown of what your entitled to.
