Q: Should i be worried about brown discharge at 8 weeks pregnant???

This is my first pregnancy. I am 8weeks tomorrow. Today i noticed some stretchy brown discharge when i wipe after using the restroom. I dont have cramps , just occasional twinges inside my lower tummy. Nothing painful, but enough to get my attention.. should i be worried???? Has anybody else experienced this and everything turned out okay? Please help!

I started having brown discharge about a week before I had a miscarriage. Mine was a blight ovum, which obviously yours is not. Definitely check with your doc about it. Good luck.

the only way to not worry is to see a dr, soon as I had brown discharge they sent me for a scan, you should never wait for red blood or pains , its always best to get checked out, google will scare u, and forums will have people telling you everything is fine an some saying its not, either way ya wont get peace of mind till you get all clear from a medical professional. in my experience they couldnt find a reason for the brown spotting at 6 weeks an they seen a heartbeat, I did however go on to lose that baby at 11 weeks but it had passed away at 7. good luck

I had the same thing with the pregnancy before this one. Had the brown discharge then it was gone- completely gone but since I was so worried I went to the hospital the next day and the baby had passed. Still took almost two more days for me to have anything else ( pain/blood/the baby pass but I was 12 weeks 4 days). I'd go get checked out- if only to ease your fears. On another note-a friend of mine was bleeding ( filling pads ) when she was around 8 weeks and ended up the baby was perfectly fine. Good luck!

For 5-6 weeks I had the same thing. I never had it with my first. It was brown and sticky and clotty. I didn't have cramps or back pain. Just occasional twinges where my r ovary would be (which was weird since I had that removed 9 years ago). Called doc and they said since not bright red, not soaking pads and no cramps/pain, I was fine. Now I'm 21w5d with a very active baby boy. Check with your doctor but try to calm down. Chances are with it "old blood",Your baby is doing just fine. :).

Ahhhhhh i feel like such a worry-wart now! My babies heartrate was 175bpm at 7w3d. Do yu know if that is a normal heartrate?

I had brown spotting/discharge from week 4 to the end of week 7 , I was so scared although this is my second pregnancy and I never had such discharge with the first one. I opened google and like the previous member said it was my worst enemy .Any bleeding even brown in colour MUST be checked with your DR. They never found the reasons for mine and after week 7 I never had it again .Now Im 33 weeks with healthy baby boy.

are you still having the discharge? Brown blood is old blood and could be from almost anything! Sex, straining after a bowel movement, etc... The twinges are completely normal. Definitely mention anything unusual to you to your Dr though

That's a completely normal heart rate. Google can be your worst enemy! If you don't have any cramping or bright red or pink spotting, try not to worry !
