Q: Ultrasound Showed Placenta Previa

I Had My Ultrasound A Few Days Ago 19 Weeks & 5 Days..The Ultrasound Showed Placenta Previa..I Believe It Was Only Marginal But I've Had 3 Prior Pregnancies & Never Experienced This..It Scared Me A Little..Has Anyone Else Had This Happen & What Are The Chances Of It Moving Out Of The Way?

The Dr Had Me A Little Worried At First, She Had Said She Didn't Think It Would Move Enough In Time But Then She Looked At The US & Said It Probably Would..The US Tech Had To Do TV US To Find My Placenta So I Guess It Was Really Low..My Dr Also Put Me On Pelvic Rest Until I Go Back For Next Ultrasound..Ty All For The Good Vibes..It Sure Does Help A Worried Mommy!!

I was diagnosed with placenta previa at 16 weeks, and put on pelvic rest. By 25 weeks, it had moved up. I was told in the beginning that there is over a 90% chance that it will move up. So, the odds are in your favor.
It was a little scary for me too. More than likely, yours will move up too. Sending positive thoughts your way!

Mine was really low at about 18 weeks too and by 22 weeks it had moved up and last week at 28 weeks it was way up. Hopefully it will move up... my doctor said 90% of the time when they notice it before 20 weeks it does. Good luck!

I also have placenta previa. I am 22 weeks with another ultrasound tomorrow. My ob said that they normally move up out of the way as your uterus expands. I was diagnosed at 18 weeks. We will know tomorrow, if it has moved or not. :) Hoping it has moved. :) Hope yours moves as well.

I've heard the same thing, that as the uterus expands, it can move with the uterus and move out of the way. Hopefully this will happen for you. Good luck!

I think that's normal to be worried. If it doesn't move you may be put on bed rest. Sending good thoughts your way!!
