Q: ugh, venting for a second.

I HATE my job. I work in a dusty, dirty, nasty file vault at a bank. 1. it's not sanitary for a pregnant woman. 2. i have to lift heavy boxes of files. 3. i've asked for help with the boxes since i'm pregnant, and i RARELY recieve any help.

Well i just had to lift 10 heavy boxes (at least 30 pounds each) and now my belly aches. I know i've out done it... but heaven forbid someone help me!!!
And it's not like i can complain to my boss either, because she's the one that says i have to do it.
I can't wait till i go on maternity leave, because i will NOT be coming back here!!!

Definitely get your doctor to write a note about not lifting anything over a specific weight. You could pull a muscle, trip, etc. I'm not sure how to handle the dirty part...you could wear gloves and a surgical mask if it's dusty maybe.

I feel your pain. I work in a nursing home as a CNA. If you ask for light duty or even if your doctor writes for it you are terminated. I have to do a lot of of lifting. I have been asking my co-workers for some extra help and they have been nice about it so far.

Get your doctor to write you a note, saying that you cannot lift things over 10lbs (or however heavy you feel comfortable with). That way they can't get mad at you when you refuse!
