It doesn't matter what we think... Some people will like the name and some people wont. It just matters what you and your husband think. I think its a bit rude that he has picked the entire name and not even considered your input, especially when we carry the child for 9 months and push it out of our vaginas!!!!

My husband picked a boys name and announced it without even telling me first. I went insane hormonal woman on him. I told him I am having a say in the name my son has. So I let him have a bit more of a "say" in the name. He wanted a norse name so I found a list of norse names picked ones I liked and then let him pick one off the list.

I was just like your husband! I was stuck on the name Aaliyah and he hated it. I compromised and told him we can both come up with a list of names and do process elimination. We started with 5 names (Aaliyah was not on the list) and ended up with the name Jade. It was the only name that we both liked and could agree on. It is your baby as much as it is his baby, he shouldn't have the final say, it's something you both should agree on. Not a fan of Beau Patrick =/

LOL I'm afraid I'm like your husband. I have 3 names that I love for our girl, and my hubby won't even consider them...but also won't come up with alternates :( My advise is to keep throwing out names you like, but not in a pushy way. Just randomly, "So I like the name ...." and then stop. lol
It's very hard to change when you have your heart set on a name and you picture your child with it. I'm not against flowing with something that I don't neccessarilly love, as long as my partner loves it. In the end, it's just a name :) So if you like it more than you dislike it, when you see your kid it might not make a difference to you. (These are the names my man is against: Arwen, Selene, Elara. We have a son named Aryn though, and he totally just went with that because I was so in love with it)

I agree naming your child is a huge choice that you both have to agree on, not something you don't mind depending on what day it is. Unfortunately you need to make him see this but you have a long time to make that happen. My hubby won't even discuss names until I'm happily in the 2nd trimester.
My opinion on the name Beau Patrick... Beau P... Bo Peep. Then that's just my thought process.

Honestly, it comes down to your decision- you're the one that fills out the paperwork afterwards. Tell him that naming your children is one of the biggest things you'll ever do for them, and that you're not 100% on board with that name. Maybe find a first name that you both like, then you can each pick a middle name?
