Q: Anyone ever had an ultrasound that showed gestational sac with no decidual reaction?

I went to the ER Sunday & had an ultrasound done due to left side pains it showed a gestation sac that was 3.6mm with no decidual reaction, no yolk sac, no embryo related to the sac. I know it is too early to see the yolk sac or embryo but everything I've read says if there is no decidual reaction it's a blighted ovum. My betas are continuing to double & the bleeding I had Wed-Mon has completely stopped.
Hcg #s
6/11 2
6/16 49.6
6/18 123.8
6/20 188
6/22 395.5
6/24 781
does it mean anything if they are not all doubling at the same rate? Has anyone been told they had no decidual reaction? What was the outcome?

Just wanted to wish you all the best! I've had 3mc before this little guy so it's completely understandable that your panicking. From my experience with friends who have had early ultrasounds is that often the ultrasounds show "worrying" markers for a non viable pregnancy and when they've gone back at a later gestation there was no reason to worry. I know being in limbo is the worst we had 9 days not knowing if our bub would make it. Allow yourself to be angry. I' had lots of stabbing pains early this pregnancy and it turned out my panic was for nothing.. Just normal stretching pains during pregnancy. Keep us updated xx

I completely understand your worry and concern. I myself have had 2 miscarriages, one super early and another when I was carrying twins. I lost them one at a time, one at 15 weeks and the other at 18 weeks. I KNOW the feeling of worrying. When I got pregnant with my son after losing my twins, I was a nervous wreck the whole time!

Thank you for apologizing, as it did come off very rude. Just so you know, your numbers are well within the doubling time for a normal viable pregnancy. I wish you the best of luck...

I am very sorry if I came off as rude to anyone. I am angry at everything. 4 days has been an eternity to wait to find out if you are carrying a 4th deceased baby. I hope you can understand I did not mean to personally attack anyone. If you've had several miscarriages I'm sure you can related to the way that I am feeling. Again, I'm sorry.

I'm freaking out & ONLY wanted to hear from someone who may have answers that apply to my scenario. Not going on vacation would actually be worse for my health... If I'm miscarrying I can't prevent it by sitting at home depressed that I can't have more children. That wouldn't be good for myself or my family. My dr is also going on vacation so I don't have any other options... He chose tomorrow.. You are a sick person to be hurtful to someone who is already hurting & upset...

And if you are so concerned, maybe you should cancel your vacation and take care of yourself first. Rushing to get an ultrasound in before a vacation doesn't sound like you are too concerned.

People comment because they generally care about the well being of others and want to offer support, regardless of if they have been through the same thing or not. I know your question asked for people who have been through the same thing, but maybe no one has or the people who have, haven't read your question. Instead of no responses at all, you are getting people who are trying to be helpful and supportive. You do not need to be so rude to people when they are taking time to assist in whatever way they know how to. If you aren't satisfied with strangers' responses, call your OB and ask them - they are the professionals and deal with this EVERY DAY.

You do realize you didn't answer a single question then I asked? I've had 3 miscarriages already I'll be a nervous wreck regardless but cramping stabbing pains that last longer than 2 hours & bleeding for a week sure doesn't help matters. My RE sent me to the ER in fear of extopic pregnancy. My next u/s ihas to be tomorrow because we'll be out of town until 7/7. Why do people comment if it has nothing to do with the question?!

The yolk sac and baby aren't even visible until your hcg reaches at least 1500. When my hcg was 7000 we only saw the g/s and y/s but no baby. At the next appointment a week later, there was a heartbeat. I think you are way too early to see anything. I would schedule another ultrasound for a week or 2 out and I'm sure you will see the baby. The problem with super early ultrasounds is that there isn't a lot to see and it is usually more nerve wracking than waiting until you are 6-7 weeks pregnant.
