Q: I need to know if I should be worried or if this is normal.

Well, I have had a few ultrasounds so far, and all of them are measuring much smaller than they should be. The first one was on November 24th and I was measuring 5 weeks 4 days at that point. Then I had another one on December 11th and I was measuring at 6 weeks 6 days. However going by my LMP I should be 10 weeks 1 day as of today, December 19th, 2014. I think my baby may just be growing slowly at this point because I am measuring more than 2 weeks less than I should be. And I know I didn't ovulate THAT late. I ovulated on the 30th, so going by that date I should be due July 23rd, making me 9 weeks 1 day. Should I be worried about this, or is it actually possible that my baby is just growing at a slower rate? Could my due date actually be July 16th or 23rd? All of this is so confusing to me...

No, you are not petite at all. It is funny that you are almost the same like ; I am 5"7 140 lbs - I always hear positive comments from doctors/nurses about very healthy BMI. It is very reassuring that the baby is growing, the heartbeat is strong and it is in a normal range. I think this baby of yours just takes his time to get bigger and just growing on his/her own pace which it different from others.

I'm about 5'7" and 144.4 pre-pregnancy. So, I'd say I'm about average build. I think they said I was considered healthy. I wanna say my BMI was somewhere around 22? I'm not positive on that though. I wouldn't say I'm exactly petite though.

What is your and your partner body type? I had a very petite friend 4'9 , 85 lbs and her bf is not big neither and the doctors always made panicky because the baby would be measured way far behind. She gave a birth on her 40th week to a healthy baby girl who was 3 lbs 7 oz - now this girl is two, very healthy , very strong, super smart, knows her abc and numbers but she's still smaller than her peers

@ jkim80
I can feel it when I ovulate. It's like a twinge, or brief sharp pain. We tried getting pregnant for 2 years and I had never had the EWCM and I finally had it this time, and the pain I was used to for ovulation was a couple days after that. According to the Ovulation due date calculator on here, I'd be due the 23rd. All of this confuses me lol And thank you, I have another ultrasound tomorrow, so hopefully I'll get some answers.

How do you know when you ovulated? LH strips, fertility monitor, tracking BBT? If you normal cycles is longer then 28days then the baby will measure small, if you ovulated on the oct 30th due date would be July 22. My cycles are longer and often erratic so we tracked ovulation since we knew LMP was pointless really. Most doctors ask how long your cycle is and if they don't your due date can be way off. With my son I knew when I ovulated between LH strips and BBT they told me he was larger and wanted to change my date, I said no, not possible, I did not o sooner. Next u/s he measured a week small, if I had let them change the date the would have said he was 2weeks small. every baby grows different just like after their born. Try not to stress. Best of luck!

Yeah, we've heard the heartbeat, and it was 142 the first time and 159 the second time. So the baby's heartbeat is increasing as it should, but it's so small, that I don't know what to think. They said my fluid is fine and there's enough blood flow to the baby so it's not IUGR like we originally thought it could be. I hope they are able to tell me something on the 23rd. I go back for another U/S then. And the last time they ran my levels they were right in range. I'm so sorry for your losses... I understand what you've been through. This is our 12th pregnancy, but only our 2nd baby if this one makes it to term.

Hi. I have no idea of your situation but before my pregnancy now I've had a lot of losses one in which the baby was always measuring behind and my ovulation dates were correct. I miscarried that pregnancy. 2 weeks seems like a lot to be measuring behind if your sure of when you ovulated.
I am only offering one of my experiences not say that this is your case or situation.
Have you seen the heartbeat and is it increasing in beats per minute each u/s that you've had.
What are your doctors telling you. I hope you have a good outcome.
Inbetween u/s maybe get your dr. To keep running HCG blood tests to ensure your levels are increasing.
GL Hun x
