I have used the over the counter suppository cream for yeast infection during pregnancy, was told by my midwife to use it and get the 5 or 7 day treatment because it will ensure better results, I think she also said it s a lower dosage over a longer time so they consider it safer and more effective. It worked great, I had no problems and baby cam safe, health and yeast/thrush free. Best of luck!!

I have found success in taking probiotics during my pregnancy to keep from getting a yeast infection. Dr. Spock recommends that pregnant women should take them. Ask your OB about taking some if it's something you want to try.

A yeast infection will not harm the baby while pregnant. It is something you want to try to treat by delivery though since you can pass the yeast onto the infant during labor.

I do believe it is safe to use the suppositories to treat a vaginal yeast infection while pregnant. However, I think that you should definitely call your OB and have him/her clarify what is safe to use before trying anything. I think it is considered safer to use the 7 day treatments instead of the 1 day treatments because the concentration of the medication is so much higher in the 1 day treatment.

A lot of over the counter suppository treatments also come with an external anti fungal cream. I have had success treating a yeast infection with the cream used externally and eating yogurt with a culture in it (Greek yogurt seems to work the best for me). However, that wasn't while pregnant so I didn't have tons of estrogen in my system which yeast love.
