Q: Movements at 32 weeks?

I am 32 weeks tomorrow and for the last couple of days I don't feel kicks necessarily, but more so just movements. I can feel what seems like an elbow or foot moving across my belly or pushing hard in one spot. Is this normal? This is my first pregnancy so I am more paranoid. Is it normal for actual kicks to reduce but for there to be more stronger movements? My placenta is also anterior so I know that blocks some movements.

It's normal for movement to change around that time, not so much less movement just different mivement. You should still be able to count about 10 movements in under an hour during her active periods though, if that changes you should call your Ob. For me it was around the 34-35 week mark that things changed as she ran out of room. I felt less quick kicks and punches and more rolls, pushing and slow foot presses. I started being able to tell the difference in body parts around that time too. I could actually feel the outline/shape of her foot, leg bone, butt, etc.

Yes, as there is less room in there, you should start to feel a different type of movement! I didn't feel so many little jabs or kicks as much as I started feeling long, slow movements.

I've read that you will feel less movement at this point because baby doesn't have as much room. 10 movements in under an hour (to me) doesn't mean your baby is healthy/unhealthy. As long as you feel regular movement, your baby is just fine. I really only have been feeling movement in the middle of the night between 3-5am. Sometimes that changes. At times I feel a bit during the day. But not near as much as I used to. For instance, I just felt a small movement in my side. Like a hand sliding along the side. I doubt I'll feel another 10 in less than an hour, but that shouldn't cause panic. You know your baby/body and when there may be reason for concern. Otherwise, just relax and enjoy mama.

mrs bump you are very wrong, movements should NEVER reduce. please look up count the kicks, all the information is there.

if you experience reduced movements its very important to call your midwife and get checked out. the way you feel movement will change but should never reduce. please please please don't listen to anyone that tells you it's normal for baby's movement to reduce. reduced movements can be a sign of baby being distress. i'm not trying to scare you, but if you look up count the kicks all the information you need about movements will be there.
