Q: A few questions wrapped up in one

1) Could this extra "swooshing" and "static" noise I'm hearing from the doppler be the baby moving? I can find the babies heart beat almost instantly now (knock on wood) and I know he's on to us because he moves right when we find it but now I'm hearing extra stuff going on in there, haha.

2) Does anybody else just completely not want to be at work anymore. I am so over it right now and am completely miserable, tired (the list goes on) and I'm only almost 18 weeks. What gives? Hormones maybe?

If you hear the static noise when the wand is firmly against your belly that is the baby moving. It makes the same sound as if you would pick up the wand without turning the Doppler off first. Sometimes it sounds like a very loud short pop of static when they actually kick the wand. The swooshing sound is probably your placenta, there is so much blood flowing through the placenta that it is actually very loud over the Doppler. I always thought it sounded like wind blowing through the trees. :)

Heard the exact same sound at my doctor's office and he said it was because baby was moving. But we didn't hear the static noise, just like water swishing around (and it wasn't me because I had barely anything to drink).

Pregnancy hormones is my problem. On the days I am angry or sad for no reason, work is the last place I want to be. BUT, last week, it's the only place I wanted to be so I don't understand that!

Slow swooshing is probably your placenta, especially if you find baby nearby. Static noises or little skips in the noise or thumps is probably baby moving and kicking. My little girl loved to kick the wand. I also picked up a lot of background stomach noises sometimes. Don't try to look for baby on an empty stomach because then all you hear is the rumbling and gurgling of your own stomach lol. And I hated being at work also. During the early 2nd trimester I was nauseous and wanted to just lay on my couch at home and during the 3rd trimester I was just big, uncomfortable and sick of hauling myself around. My whole pregnancy I felt like I was just doing a half assed job everyday.
