Q: 12 weeks 4 days pregnant no heartbeat

I am 12 weeks 4 days pregnant. I had a little bleeding very light pink off and on for a few days around 7 weeks. I went in to an ultrasound at 9 weeks and the baby was fine had a heartbeat but measured 8 weeks. Went in Thursday for my appointment, 01/21/16. They couldn't find a heartbeat on the Doppler, or ultrasound or transvaginal ultrasound, and they said baby measured 9 weeks. I still feel pregnant, tingling boobs, etc, also baby is still very much intact. I have no signs in any way of a miscarriage. I am loosing weight though. I am scheduled for a d&c on Wednesday 01/27/16. Is it at all possible that the ultrasound tech could have been wrong? I have a very tipped uterus. Could the baby just be hiding in a spot to not catch the heartbeat? This is my 6th pregnancy, and I have never had trouble like this. Should I have the Dr. do an hcg test and another ultrasound before the d&C?

I am so sorry. I have been through exactly this 4 times I have 2 children and have had 6 pregnancies and 3 d&c's.
There will be no mistake if the baby is only measuring 9 weeks. However I alway got another ultrasound done just before my d&c's just to make sure as human error is always possible so yes I would always have a second ultrasound for confirmation that the baby has passed specially for your own peace of mind.
I am so so sorry. It's extremely difficult to go through. I hope you have good family support xxx
