Q: Can a blood vessel look like a heartbeat on a early 5 week abdominal scan?

We thought we seen heart beat on a abdominal scan 5 weeks 3 days. Went and got vaginal scan and no heartbeat at 6 weeks 2 days. CRL is .56. Doctor says to come back next week for another scan that maybe what we seen on abdominal was vessels and it wasn't a heartbeat yet, and if no heartbeat Monday then probably won't happen. I also have a hematoma a small one. Baby and sak measure fine though. Doctor says I'm just still so early and small that maybe they can't see the heartbeat yet. But what I seen looked like a heartbeat last week. ???? the vaginal ultrasound was one of those good ones. He says guidelines say wait till .7 mm for heartbeat and I only measure .5 right now. But I just don't know. ????

There's a reason many doctors refuse to do scans this early. Even they can't tell what they are looking at half the time. Everything will be fine. You'll go in next week and you'll be far enough along to see your lil bean.
