Q: Brown discharge at 5 weeks?!?!

This morning at 3:30am I went to go urinate and saw some brown discharge and only saw it for two wipes. I had sex prior to falling asleep. That's the only time I saw it. Should I be worried? Did an orgasm trigger old blood to come out? This is my first pregnancy so I'm not exactly sure. I'm just really concerned but I don't wanna stress over nothing. Please help!

Some spotting in early pregnancy can be perfectly normal. I actually spotted and bled my whole first trimester with my daughter and I have spotted a little bit this pregnancy as well. I know it is not fun at all to see any kind of blood!

It can be normal to notice spotting after sex or after a bowel movement. However, it can't hurt to call your midwife/doctor to let them know that it happened. That is what they are there for, don't be afraid to call them. :)
