Q: Has anyone ever had to have their baby "turned"?

So I am 33w 3d pregnant, and my baby still hasn't turned. My doctor said at my last appointment that if the baby hasn't turned when I return that he would turn it, externally. Has anyone ever had this done and if so was it painful? Will they do it in the OB office or hospital? Thanks so much.

Hello Ladies,
Cingratulations, this is a very usual comokication of baby being stuck in a rather unconfortable situation. Although, it is natural but you can always try ti turn its position with various methods. That being said, I woukd never personally orefer taking any medicines for the same, I will rather choose a better and natural option which has less side effects on my and the baby's body. There are several positions to try to get baby to turn naturally, if you google it you will get some good ideas. I know this doesn't really answer your question but maybe you can get baby to turn on its own and then you won't have to worry about it!

With my first I had two external versions. They both failed, but I would do it again. They are quite painful. Try to relax your abdomen as much as possible during the turning though and it will help the procedure as well as hurt less. Versions should only be done with the help of an ultrasound and at a hospital in case you go into labor or the baby has distress (cord problems, etc.). Google spinning babies for lots of natural ways to try to get baby to turn on their own before your version. I tried everything in the book and mine didn't turn, but it's worth a shot.

Good luck!!
