Q: Pre labour

i am 38 weeks and for 2 days now been having frequent braxton hicks contractions every 10 minutes , lasting a minute, but on and off every few hours ( mostly morning and night) Sometimes they are even 6 minutes apart but i have not had any show, loss of mucous plug or broken waters. How long has pre labour lasted for you other ladies? it's so tiring and frustrating! Also i get tightness/shortness of breath in my chest and pressure in my head when it happens.

My last one lasted two weeks, had him at 41 weeks. My husband actually took off of work because of it (lived out away from town and didn't want to take a chance). With my first two, once I lost my plug, it was go time, but not with him. It is frustrating and for me it was embarrassing to feel so out of tune with my body. Cool thing was because of it all, by the time I went to the hospital for the real thing, I was already 6 cm dilated, but after some hours had to break my water to get things going more. I even had one night I woke up at 3 and showered thinking that was it but it wasn't. Good luck to you!
