Q: 2 IUG sacks

I had an early scan today (6 weeks 4 days) and the so no graphed said that there were two sacs present. No concerns about one but the other one, although yolk seen, she warned me that it probably wouldnt progress. Big size difference between the two sacs. I am booked for another scan in two weeks to see if there has been any development. I just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience and what the outcome was?

My pregnancy with my son started out with two. One developed just fine, the other didn't. I had almost constant spotting for a month or so, which scared the crap out of me, but my son turned out just fine. I did develop preeclampsia later on in the pregnancy, and my doctor told me that sometimes a "vanishing twin" can result in placenta problems for the remaining twin. So there's that... but I guess there hasn't been a definitive link between them (vanishing twin = placenta problems = preeclampsia). But I'd still say watch out for headaches, swelling, and seeing spots. It's 100% depressing to lose one baby, but unfortunately there's nothing that can be done. Grieve your loss, but try to also celebrate your baby and your pregnancy. Good luck!
