HelloIamSammy - Awesome news and congrats on your little boy! How exciting :)

AFM - Have an appointment tomorrow with my OB and then next week have an appointment with the high risk specialist where they will do an in depth u/s to check the heart, anatomy etc. I have opted to see the high risk specialist for a few appointments because I am at a higher risk for certain things due to my age (35) and just want a peace of mind. We have decided NOT to find out the gender - still having a hard time with this one but we found out with our first and this will probably be our last baby and my husband wants to keep it a surprise :)

Hope everyone else is doing well! Update when you have a chance. Still thinking of you mamasia and hoping you are doing ok.

Great to hear from you, Starmama14. I am 36 and find it comforting to have the additional tests or a further look. Good for you on holding back on finding out the gender! That is tough to do. My husband and I surprisingly agreed to finding out although others thought that we were crazy for wanting to.

My appointment with the genetics counsellor is this Friday morning which will involve another in-depth ultrasound. Let us know how your appointment went, please.

Giving my best to all in this posting. Oh and thank you! I am filled to the brim with happiness over having a boy!

Good day ladies,

It is nice to hear from both of u again.. Starmama and Sammy..

Sammy - Congrate Sammy for the baby BOY !!
Starmama - I agree that it is a very challenging decision not to know the gender..

Actually our ages are not far different since im 34.. My DH and i decided not to do any thorough test for the genetics.. We only hope for the best..

I still need to figure out the suitable nurse/assistant to be with the midwife during the labor and the first week after that to deal with the baby .. some company will send different people after 2 days.. definitely not what we want.. tiring of explaining and getting to know each other every time..

At last my nausea has stopped.. Im so happy as i can be in the kitchen again.. !!

ZueZue, great to hear from you as well! Definitely happy for your nausea to FINALLY pass, you poor thing.

A piece of golden advice I received was to always do what is right for you, your partner (if any) and baby not what everyone expects of you. It is always great to hear the different choices being made as everyone's situation is unique and reasons all very different and important to the individual.

ZueZue, what country do you live in?

Would like to keep in touch and hear everyone's news :)

Sammy - You are right.. everybody has their own way.. as for me im not good with all this medical terms.. having medical test is surely confusing for me.. I can easily get worried..

We live in the Netherlands.. A lot of midwives here.. There is an academy for the midwives at the northern part of the country.. Very encouraging to give birth at home actually but i still get nervous since i have no idea about it.. 100% drug free birth.. How would that be..

I would love to know about the experiences from others as well.. Different people, different countries and different style..

@HelloIamsammy Congratulations on a baby boy.... wish you a very healthy baby boy. Thank you for thinking abt me.
@Starmama14 @zue_zue @flowerpower... Wishing you all a very healthy pregnancy and thank you very much for your kind words. You all are simply amazing.

I am doing well....physically and emotionally. After the miscarriage, we kind of had to reset everything. We were moving toward a direction and had to suddenly walk a different way. It was kind of confusing... but we have moved on and I am glad we stayed positive.....i am happy that we had that strength... I had D&C and now I am waiting for my period....hopefully will get it soon....we still want baby but we are not rushing....doc said wait for 2 regular cycles to try and we will probably do that.
I have Pcos too...so maybe I will go see the fertility doctor too just incase my doc recommends.
Anyways I just wanted to leave some msg of appreciation for your love and support. Thank you very much. I wish all of you amazing pregnancy and very very healthy babies... :):) will check your updates time and again :)

Dear all,

It has been so quiet here.. I hope everybody are in very good condition..

My DH and i went for a scan last week since i had 3 days of fever.. The gynae did u/s to make sure our little one is fine.. Everything is good.. Just some infection and dehydration.. We asked the gynae about the gender and she said the baby might be a girl but she was not so sure since the cord covers the area.. Next week will be another scan and we r so curious..!!

I really hope to hear from all of u..

Hello everyone! Just wanting to touch base to see how everyone is faring.

Zue Zue, great to hear from you and glad that you and baby are doing well aside from the infection. Feeling better now I hope?

Everything seems to be good with myself and our baby, I am now 27W 2 Days. The placenta is in the front (anterior) which means his kicks are a bit muffled but I do feel them and sometimes can see them. I thought this part of a pregnancy would feel alien-like however I find it quite natural and nice.

My midwife is really wonderful and she has recommended we take a tour of the Toronto Birth Centre which is located on the main level of the clinic I am aligned with--what a special place! @Zue Zue I understand the idea of a natural birth seems a bit scary although I wonder if your midwife can provide to you nitrous oxide (essentially laughing gas) as ours does which relieves some fear for me. There is a 8-10 min ambulance wait time with the hospital only 2 blocks away if there is an emergency. I am currently looking into Hypnobirthing, the Mogan Method, you might want to check this out! It does sound rather "hippy" however this is a wonderful method to help tolerate pain associated with child birth.

MamaAsia, I am still thinking of you and wish you nothing but the very best for you. I hope you are doing well.

Ladies, I'd love to hear from you all! Whats your latest news?

Hi ladies -

I keep forgetting to check back here! So sorry I've been so MIA!

Glad to hear everyone else is doing well though. Does everyone know what they are having? Any other updates?

AFM - I am 27 weeks as of today and everything is going really well thus far - EXCEPT I still have a complete previa :( Hopefully it moves soon. Other than that, this pregnancy is just flying by for me! We opted not to find out so I have no clue what I am having. I am starting to go a little crazy not knowing but I know it will be worth it in the end ;) Right?

I would love to hear from everyone else on how they are doing! Hope all is well.

Starmama14 - Fingers are crossed for you that placenta previa gives you no issues and you have a great 3 months of your remaining pregnancy and a healthy delivery. I have been concerned about my own placenta placement although the midwife assures me that mine is in front but up top (lucky).

Good for you for not finding out! It will be quite the nice surprise :)

Yes, please, anyone else want to give us an update on how you are all faring? Would LOVE to know how everyone is!

Hey ladies! I had a very busy with work/school...so apologies for not being on in forever. I do hope you all are doing well!

We are doing well, 26 weeks and 2 days today. She will be delivered on the 37th week, so time is not waiting for no one, lol. I am starting to feel her a lot now and that is reassuring.

Hope you all are doing well!!

No need to apologize, JLHart22--everyone understands and is in the same situation with being busy.

Great to hear from you and that your baby is a girl, so lovely!

I am 3 weeks ahead of you being 29w 3d today so if you plan on having your baby in the 37th week--we should be due near the same time :) May I ask why she is going to be born in the 37th week? I am curious and cannot recollect you mentioning this before and I apologize if you have already.

The kicks I feel are typically in the morning and at night when I am settling down to sleep. I ran for the streetcar today and my belly looks a bit lopsided with his bottom (or foot) sticking on the top right side of my belly. My latest ultrasound showed him head down with his back taking up the length of my left side--so interesting to learn this.

Keep well and in touch, please.

Hey mamas to-be! Getting excited counting down the days yet? It has been super hot & muggy in my city of Toronto so I've holed myself up in air conditioning for some of those days.

Just checking in on everyone to see how things are. I am currently putting together my postpartum items together for myself and the baby shower is set for Aug 28th--getting excited over here!

Anyone else working on preparing/nesting for baby? Fill us in! :)

Hi ladies! Thanks for being so understanding...I feel so bad as the last time I wrote I just wanted to let you know I am still alive and well, but didn't have time to read what had been happening :(

MamaAsia, I am SO sorry I am just seeing the ordeal you went through and while I am happy you and your hubby have the strength to move forward, I am so sad you had to go through that. I am amazed and in awe of your strength and pray that your rainbow baby is soon coming!!

Sammy, How are things aside from hot? I am in Alabama so I get the hot and muggy for sure :/ Stay hydrated!! So cool about the shower :) I had one in TX the end of July and I have three more! End of Aug, first of Sep, and the middle of Sep! I am ready to just get things and put them together as we only have a little over 6 weeks to go...I am having her at 37 weeks due to two previous surgeries where they had to cut into my uterus to remove fibroids. My OB doesn't want me to labor, so out she is planned to come. We are looking at having her on my grandfather's bday, he would have been 95!!

Starmama, how are things looking now? Hoping the placenta is acting right for you now??

Zue-Zue, how are you feeling? Hope you are much better and staying hydrated!

AFM, I am good, feeling her kick a lot and very strongly. I have even recorded her a few times. Took our last trip last week, so now just need to get everything organized...

Hope to hear from you all soon...before we are all consumed in all things baby!!

As for me, we have again started trying. With PCOS, I don't know how long it is going to take, but I am just hopeful that it will be soon. I will wait and see few cycles and if nothing works out, I am planning to go to the doctor and take medication....until then I will keep trying :D

Stay healthy and Strong.....You have new life to bring to this world....GOOD LUck everyone :D

Hi ladies!! It's so nice to hear from everyone! Glad all of you are doing so well! These babies will be here before we know it :)

AFM- I found out the hard way that the previa hadn't moved. On August 8, I was at work heading to a meeting and began bleeding all of a sudden. I dropped what I was doing and called my high risk ob who told me to come to his office asap. He confirmed that it was the previa bleeding and admitted me to the hospital for a 72 hour observation. Well...I had another significant bleed before those 72 hours were up which bought me more time in the hospital. I had a third major bleed so my doc said I have to be in the hospital until baby is born. So...that's where I currently am. I have been here for two weeks as of today. I will be 34 weeks pregnant tomorrow and the hope is to get me to 36 weeks and deliver via c section. Hopefully that will mean baby will have a shorter time in the Nicu.

That's it in a nutshell for me! I will update when I can. Keep updating this forum ladies...would love to hear of your progress :)

Hi everyone!! Glad to see everyone is still around :)

Mamasia, hey!! I am truly excited for you and yes still in awe a bit, but glad you are still going for it!! I pray that it will work sooner than later. Thanks for still be around :)

Zue-Zue, wow!!! I seriously can't wait to hear how it goes for you! Are you nervous at all?? Sorry about the lack of sleep, I feel tired a lot but my hips hurt so bad so that makes sleep difficult :/

Starmama, OMG!! I am happy you are in the hospital and praying the baby is ok and stays until it's time to come. I am sorry you had to go through that though! I will check in often to "keep you company". Where are you again?

Matter of fact, where is everyone at?? I am in Alabama.

AFM, I am ok, just growing and looking forward to the next few weeks! 31 Weeks today, six more to go :)

Starmama - It must be tough for you.. I really pray that everything goes well with both of you.. Since u bleed alot, do they give you any extra blood? Did you experience any pain? Sorry for all this questions.. Im really curious about your condition..

Jada - Im getting heavier now.. difficult to move.. back pain.. pee a lot .. ligament cramping.. name it.. Cant wait till D'day.. I planned for birth at home but i never can tell.. May be it will happen in the hospital.. Im in the Netherlands currently and the system here encourage home birth unless there is any complication occurred.. The hospital is just a kilometer away.. So you are 6 weeks to go.. !!! Everything is ready? Baby room and etc?

Its really exciting now since we are almost there.. !!
