About Me

In 2007 I met the love of my life, my everything, and my world. We married two years later, and decided to start trying for a family in summer of 2011. We were thrilled when we learned we were expecting a child in spring of 2012. However, at 4 weeks, I began having terrible cramping, and after a rushed visit to the ER, I learned I had an angel baby. Heartbroken as we were, we decided we would wait a little while before trying again. In September, only about seven weeks after our miscarriage, my husband decided he would like to try again, and i felt we were ready, too. We tried for nearly seven months the second time around, and on March 5, I took three pregnancy tests, all which were positive. I couldn't believe my eyes. The next day I took three more positive tests, and the third day, I took an additional two. My pregnancy was confirmed at my very first prenatal appointment on March 9th, when we discovered we were officially going to be parents. My pregnancy has been going extraordianarily well and I cannot wait to meet our little peanut. I am due November 13, 2012 and have no clue how I am going to wait that long.

IT'S A GIRL! Averee Morgan Reynolds will be arriving this November!

My Birth Plan

I plan on going as naturally as possible in this delivery. I do not want to be induced or use pitocin unless there is a medical emergency. If at all possible I do not want my water to be broke for me and i do not want to be offered medication unless I ask for them. I plan to be told what all my pain relief options are and would like to use minimal pain medications if possible. I would like to labor at home until about 2 or 3 centimeters before going to the hospital. Upon arriving to the hospital, I would like for there to be as little tests and monitoring as possible permitting the baby and I are healthy. I plan on having access to any birthing equipment available such as a birthing ball or shower, and would like to be able to move as freely as I can. I would like to try as many natural ways to get labor going as possible, and want there to be minimal doctors and machinery in my room. If I birth at night, I prefer dim lighting and calm, quiet voices, and if in the day i prefer access to natural light only. I want to have the option to labor in various positions I find comfortable I want to aviod a c-section at all costs and only want one performed as an absolute last resort where there are no other options. I want my husband to cut the umbilical cord and help catch the baby. As long as baby is healthy, I want IMMEDIATE skin to skin contact and I want o breastfeed right away. Any testing and procedures will be put on a hold permitting the newborn is healthy. Bathing and eye drops will wait until after bonding has occured. I do not want my baby to have a pacifier or formula unless medically necessary. I plan on sharing a room with my child all through the night and want my hospital stay to be as short as possible.

Hey, just wanted to say hi and say that I'm also pregnant after a loss (a few losses actually). I also have a tilted uterus :) I was reading over your birth plan and saw that you wanted to keep it as natural as possible and I was wondering if you've considered looking for a doula? thats great for natural births, and also I'm not sure they have it everywhere but birthdancing is also great. they have classes where I'm at but I dont know how popular it is yet. I also was going to suggest a great book called "the natural pregnancy book" by Aviva Romm this is a great book and talks about all kinds of different pregnancy issues and alternative methods to common procedures. I hope your pregnancy goes well :)
