Joy's Birth Story

My water broke at 9 in the morning. Just a trickle at first and I suspected until I had a gush at the store. Nice. Called husband who was 3 hours away and told him to hurry. Hung out a little while at our rental home but decided to just meet husband at the hospital. I was still only 2cm and 50% effaced. Had some natural contractions and baby’s heart rate plummeted each time. Did a epidural which turned into a spinal accidentally. Waited for baylby to stabilize before starting pitocin but her heart rate kept dropping. They gave me the choice and I felt like something was wrong. So I called c section and we had her out in 30 minutes. I was so happy to get to be awake and get to see her right away. She had her cord wrapped around her neck and above her head between her and my cervix! It was a good call and we are happy and healthy.
