Adara May-Ann's Birth Story

My water trickled at 11 pm 12/8/14 but thought the baby slammed into my bladder but I wasn't sure. I put on a pad like my OB told me to and it trickled 3 more times. I called the hospital and talked to the doctor on call and they said to come in so they could check just in case. As I was about to get into the car I gushed and knew my water broke. I had two little contractions the car ride there. We got to the hospital at 12:16 am 12/9/14 and they said I was 1 cm dilated. they checked at 5 am again and I was 2cm dilated. The hospital shift changed at 7 am and they checked me at 7:30 am- I was almost fully dilated except for a little lip.
A phone call to the doctor and she was there and prepped for delivery. After twenty minutes of pushing and my baby was born. We did delay cord clamping and skin to skin right away. Breastfed within the first hour.
