Emma Nicole's Birth Story

Fast and furious. Did not expect that. Woke up at 6 am with contractions. Started timing them at 6:30 am. Got to the hospital and already 6 cm dialated. Within an hour I was fully dialated. The midwife broke my water, and I started pushing right after my mom and husband arrived in the room. I wanted to jump out of the bed. I did NOT want to push. However, I did it. She was out very quickly, about 10 pushes. Unfortunately, she had fluid in her tummy and lungs. She's still in the NICU, hopefully only 24h. They tell me she's improving. I did get to pump and nurse her, which was really great. Still weird she is not in our room. Plan to visit for feedings until she can be with us fulltime again.
