Kobe James Duncan's Birth Story
On Sunday 18th at about 3:00 am, I started feeling mild contractions. They didn't hurt a lot but I could still feel some pain in my belly. I went to sleep and woke up about 3 hours later needing to pee. I was laying in bed and the contractions were a little bit stronger. I tried eating a bowl of cereal but it made me feel really nauseous, I couldn't even drink water I felt that sick. I ended up going back to sleep for 2 hours, hoping that the contractions would stay though. When I woke up again, I had no contractions for about 10-15 minutes, I wasn't that happy about that but just thought he mustn't be ready then and was just playing games. But then they came back even stronger than before.
It was about 10:30am when they came back and they were getting quite painful, I just breathed my way through them. My contractions were all very irregular, ranging from 3 to 10 minutes apart.
At about 4:00pm, they were starting to get very strong, I was trying my hardest to concentrate on my breathing but the pain was getting to me so I called the hospital to see what I should do and they told me to take some pain relief (paracetemol) to see if that'll take some of the pain away and to call again when the contractions become more regular. Just my luck, we have no pain relief so I had to wait another hour and a half for my boyfriends mum to get home with some.
5:30 finally came around and my boyfriends mum gets home with pain relief and KFC. I tried to eat some chips because I had pretty much eaten nothing all day, but it just made me feel sick. I took 2 tablets as reccommended and I told myself that I'll give it 2 hours just so it has time to take effect.
After a while, my contractions were even worse, the paracetemol didn't help the pain at all, it made it more intense than it already was. So, even thoguh my contractions were still pretty irregular I called up the hospital again and I told tem that the paracetemol did not work at all and they told me to come
