Easton 's Birth Story
Ended up in the ER at 36w (based on new dd) with right upper quadrant pain. They ran a bunch of bloodwork and then the mat ward called in the oncall OBGYN and then the specialist and it was determined I had preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. They let me go home that night but had to be back next morning at 730 for more bw and possible induction. My platelets had dropped more so i was induced and admitted. Induction that day at 36+1 and next day 36+2. I had 48 hours straight of hourly NSTs and back contractions but my cervix did not soften or open at all. I was having bloodwork every 12 hours to monitor my platelets. I couldn’t eat before bloodwork incase the levels dropped too far and I had to have an emerg csection. My levels stabilized enough at 36+3 that they let me go home to have a break from the hospital and failed inductions. I was still having to go back every 24 hours for bloodwork with potential of csection at anytime. I ended up back in emerg at 36+5 as the pain was back and my platelets dropped again. I was immediately admitted for monitoring as they were worried about HELLP induced seizures. Becaue Baby was ok through everything and my levels were somewhat stabilized (trending downward more slowly) they were trying to keep him in until 37w. At 36+6 they checked my cervix which was still very high, thick and posterior they said I could be induced again but I was already considered an induction failure and if I was not in full, active labour by 12:01am at 37w they’d take me for a csection anyway. My doctors (I had a team at this point) and my husband and I decided a csection at 37w was the better option. So Oct 10 I had a csection. Baby boy was way high up and it took 2 male OBs to pull him out of my ribs. My hubby said they both had their arms inside me and both of them had their feet off the ground pulling- the rib pressure was horrible. Easton came out at 7lbs 11oz and perfect. I got to hold him in recovery after I was stitched up. It was
