Friend lost her baby
By GemGem » Posted Apr. 26, 2013 3:50pm - 329 views - 1 comment

My friend found she was pregnant 7 weeks ago and finally had her 12 weeks scan (in uk we don't have anything until 12 weeks) to find that it had stopped growing at 9 weeks 4 days. i don't know how to comfort her, she has a lot of support from her family and other friends but now i don't want o rub her face in my pregnancy. She wasn't in a stable relationship and was not going to tell the father and decided to bring the baby up herself. She was on STRONG anti-dressents and continued to smoke heavily (more than 10 a day) I had warned her about the effects of smoking and she knew she know it would be risky with her meds too. herself and her mother had already started buying things at 8/9 weeks! How do you tell someone to wait without sounding negative? Also she hadn't announced anything on fb (as you do, lol) before 12 weeks obviously, BUT THEN uploaded her scan picture on fb which the message RIP my little one" I was shocked she wanted to share this with everyone. I guess people have different ways of grieving.

Anyways its a big shock and now i feel i don't want to say anything about my little one in fear of upsetting her. She was so excited about being pregnant at the same time although im 27 weeks already. mother nature is so cruel. My partner doesn't really understand as he has a problem with her and her past drama's and finds it hard to understand why she would tell the world. It would be nice to have a little support from him as i feel devastated for her. Its really made me realise that we aren't invincible and anything can happen.

All you can do Hun is just be there for her as I'm sure your doing. At the end of the day if her pregnancy meant so much to her she would gave stopped smoking and maybe changed her strong meds! I myself lost my first pregnancy at 9 weeks even though I did everything healthily, but now a very happy and excited mummy to be at 33 weeks 1 day, bring it on! Oh by the way I'm from the uk as well :)
