First Prenatal Appt. and Ultrasound!
By emma~joey~and~baby » Posted Sep. 16, 2011 10:36pm - 369 views - 2 comments

I had my first appt. with Dr. Bellardo today, and had my first ultrasound!! Everything looks great, and I got a definitive due date of May 1st! It's only a day behind my original due date, but it's literally an entire month! lol Oh well, I guess I'll be one of the first people due in May, instead of one of the last due in April! My babies are always born a little early...and big! So, we're anticipating an April birthday, anyway. Heartbeat was at 150 bpm...perfect! Unfortunately, there is a small blood clot behind the placcenta, so I am not to do anything crazy and am on pelvic rest for 2 weeks. The hope is that it will just take care of itself before my next appt. I'm trying to not drive myself nuts worrying...easier said than done! Anyway, it was a good day, and I'm excited for our little May Day baby!! :)

Yeah, I had bleeding right after I got my BFP, and that made my doc feel a little better. Apparently, it's not uncommon for blood clots to form when there has been bleeding. Praying that it dissolves so this LO can be healthy!

They found a blood clot/subchorionic hematoma around the same time for me. I had bleeding one day which is what made them look for it. Luckily, 4 days later they could barely see it on the ulrasound and the bleeding had completely stopped. Just keep resting and hopefully it'll dissolve right back in! If you have bleeding, it's supposed to be more brown in color, and it is probably related to the clot, just so you don't freak out like I did!
