It was a pretty decent weekend. On Saturday, I waited for my husband to wake up (works Midnight shift) and we went over to my Brother's Girlfriends summer house 1 town over from me. It was nice getting to talk to get to know her better. I met her on Memorial day when we went to a local hangout spot on boats, her sister and I were talking and we all started talking and got to exchanging info. I told my brother about her and all else is history. They are such a cute couple and she makes my brother happy... something I haven't seen in many years.
Anyway, the tea they had and I drank not realizing it is something I should not drink while pregnant is Hibiscus tea. It was mixed with Watermelon mint too so it wasn't just all Hibiscus tea. I looked it up yesterday morning and gave me reasons to not drink it (mainly in the 1st tri) and it said because it causes bleeding to the uterus... WHAATTT? I began freaking out, but then again I didnt have medicine amount of the stuff and all is fine. What a heart pumper that was!
Yesterday we had my husband's co-worker over with their 2 little girls to use our pool. It was nice but boy was I tired. We did a fire pit later last night and I felt little one moving... movements are becoming much more noticeable. I LOVE IT!!! As I type right now, I have felt him/her a couple of times already!!
Hubby and I took a bet about the sex. I said Boy and he said ok... If I win and it's a girl, we get to name her Karma Marie. I told him he's got a bet. I know it's not a girl, so I have no worries. LOL! He wants the name Karma for all that he has done in the past. Funny, but I know I got this one AGAIN!

Comment from HzlGreenEyes » Posted Aug. 4, 2015 10:00am Karma is an ok name... I just don't think it is fair to name a child something due to your past. My husband is a good man but in his younger years, he was single guy doing what single guys do. It wasn't until he met me that it stopped him in his tracks. To me, it wouldn't be fair for our daughter to have a name with a ridiculous story.
Comment from SarahEMcCormick » Posted Aug. 3, 2015 3:55pm Oh - PS before I forget, I experienced something of the same kind of thing the other day. I was at Target and picked up some White Tea with Peaches and honey, and didn't read the fine print. It contains chamomile - which, I don't know if you know, can be harmful to an unborn baby. So, as I was brewing up the tea and for some reason read the box, and almost took a sip, I caught myself last minute. Thank God...I think you will be okay though, since many Jamaican women drink Hibiscus tea all throughout their pregnancies, and they are usually (for the most part) fine. I have no idea where I read that, but I did a while ago. I'm full of useless yet useful information. lol
Comment from SarahEMcCormick » Posted Aug. 3, 2015 3:52pm Sounds like a relaxing weekend! And what IF you happen to lose the bet? Are you willing to name 'her' Karma for real? I have to admit, it kind of has a ring to it! lol

Comment from Cattsmeow » Posted Aug. 3, 2015 10:04am Sounds like you had a fun weekend. And yay for baby movements! Those first few movements are always one of my favorite parts of pregnancy. I wouldn't worry too much about the tea. As you stated, I doubt you drank enough of it to make a difference. I know how worrying it can be, though. |
