Caffeine Withdrawl... or should I say NO COFFEE...AHHHHH
By HzlGreenEyes » Posted Aug. 6, 2015 10:18am - 316 views - 7 comments

Today is day 3 off of coffee. The days before I switched over to iced tea, I did do half decaf/half regular. I guess my body prefers coffee over tea. I had to get off of coffee because I was having major acid issues in my stomach causing more nausea and discomfort. When I was 19 I was diagnosed with Gastritous caused by stress, not bacteria. It never really goes away I just keep it under control.
On Tues and yesterday, I was struggling to stay awake at my desk and had the worst nausea and headache. Even having a LARGE Iced tea, my body is suffering withdrawl. I feel much better today though! I am actually productive! HA HA! I am not exhausted sitting here and I can focus!! Thank GOD!

I love my coffee, the taste mainly. I guess I am doing myself the favor though. Stomach definitely thanks me!! Ha ha!

I wouldn't have given up my coffee, but I really had no choice. It was causing more acid in my stomach which was causing me inflammation and pain... also GERD. The GERD was causing chest pains in the center of my chest that were sharp and uncomfortable, so I needed to drop the coffee, not even able to drink Decaf. I couldn't believe that my body would go through such withdrawal even with switching over to tea. I was much better yesterday, got through the worst in 2 days which is not bad. Still drinking iced tea.

I have tried to give up caffeine completely but it didn't last. I occasionally have a coke or *gasp* a mt dew at work but I limit it to one. I still make myself coffee about twice a week and a couple times I've had 3-4 cups :/ but a vast majority of the time I have way less then the 200mg caffeine limit so I'm guessing a little splurge here or there can't hurt. I also like hot tea with cream and sugar. Those britts are on to something there lol

You sound like me!! every time I get pregnant I get an instant food aversion to coffee. Kind of weird! But I cannot stay awake at work. I have been drinking green tea as well but it does not have the same effect as coffee. I have started to workout at work for at least 30 minutes and I feel my energy slowly returning. THANKFULLY!

I miss coffee too. I still treat myself here and there though on those days that just seem unbearable and I'll admit, I am soooo much nicer at work after a cup, haha.

I miss coffee soooo much. They say a little bit of caffeine is ok during pregnancy, but I prefer to just stay away from it entirely. I have splurged and had a couple caramel frappes from McDonalds on really hot days, and twice I've had a glass of pop when we've had pizza delivered. But that's it! I've been staying strong. Hard to stay awake most afternoons at work, though.

Luckily, one of my aversions became my coffee. Now I drink tons of water and nurse ginger ale...

I stopped drinking coffee completely in April - the first week was awful but then it got better. Now when I crave coffee I get a decaf but since decaf still have a bit caffeine in it I can feel it working haha... You can do it :D
