Love my Dr!!

No really, she's our new family Dr since we moved here and I haven't been able to see her for my last appointment as she was on holiday but I'm happy to say she's lovely, caring, she listens and has answers even if she does SUCK at using a doppler.
We did the usual checks and she didn't just jot it down she told me all of the results and that they were fine (normally the midwife doesn't say a word for this whole part, just writes and pokes) then she asks me to hop onto the bed to measure my bump and listen to Thea.
Bump is 37cm which is great and Theas heartbeat... Well... it was missing...
I am used to just pop the little wand on where here back is (on the left) and boom there it is, I have a device I use at home and its always right there.
Silence... just tummy noises. I didn't remember feeling her since 4am and the 30 seconds started to feel like a life time. Hubby frowned at me, I looked horrified and the Dr was silent. I studied her face and she seemed calm so I just said 'this can't be good...'.
'Oh no, I turned it down a little as it crackles badly so its making it a little harder to home in plus I think thats her bottom not her back...' she smiled and then *thud thud thud thud thud* 'See she's right there at 125 to 130, wonderful resting heartbeat'.
Just then Thea rolled over and the Dr smiled again '140 to 150. She's awake now and probably annoyed at me poking her with this thing.'
Hubby almost fell off his chair as I think he had been holding his breath.
She talked me through the movement changes, the quiet times and what to do if I have any doubts. I know that might sound like the obvious answer is to call the hospital but to have her say to call her during the day to pop in and listen to baby is a breath of fresh air and she checked all my hospital numbers to make sure that out of surgery hours I can call someone straight away.
Beats my old midwife who finally replied to my voice mail about movement advice I left her OVER 7 WEEKS AGO!!! I know it was not urgent but still...

Two nights of sleep under my belt have me feeling pretty human again and happy. Happy to wait for her, happy to remain tubby a little longer and happy to be happy again. As long as I don't even mildly over do it during the day I seem to be able to avoid the 2am contractions, good to know!
Still pretty uneasy at the prediction of a 9 to 10 pound baby should she get to 40wks based on previous baby weights and bump height. I know they can be off but still... 10lb... Should be fun pushing that out. And some of you ladies were fretting about your 8lb predictions HA!
In the interest of TMI, CM production is up by almost 100% Seriously! So much I can actually feel it make its way up. I'm starting to feel like a slug!
And finally I have a stretchy Christmas dress that fits great over my bump as a long top so I can rock the Christmas party on Saturday. Its just between close friends but still to be able to look my best and dress up a huge bonus.

Not many December ladies left now, Still not sure if I'm going to be a December or January mummy.
16 official days to go but I'm predicting Jan 7th so 21 by my count :)
