Ugh!! SICK

OH MY GOSH!
It was so awful but on thursday after about a day or two of my little boy being super cranky and not sleeping through the night my husband and I both realized we had sore throats.. and then suddenly it clicked that my poor baby had had a cold probably for the last 2 days or at least the beginning of a cold and now my husband and I were about to get it. UGH I knew it was coming but i had no idea it was going to be this miserable. Im usually a pretty tough person and I make it through colds no problem as long as I have my dissolvable alkaseltzer and my vicks sinex nose spray. But of course I got to googling just to be sure and literally when is google ever your friend i mean seriously. So after reading horrible side effects and lots of peoples opinions on message boards that none of this stuff should be taken in the first trimester I decided that I wasn't going to take any medication at all and just tough it out. My OBs office had closed for the weekend and I just really didn't want to do anything to jeporidize the baby. That was the most miserable weekend I have ever had. On top of not being able to breathe I was so nauseas and tired and coughing and to top it off my husband was also sick and so was my son. Long story short i eventually had to break down and use some nose spray to be able to sleep because I am not a mouth breather and when my nose is plugged and I try to sleep it makes me panic lol so then i worried all the way until monday about the baby but luckily i got the all clear to keep using the nose spray and some tylenol cold and flu if needed so hopefully I won't be suffering any longer. On the plus side all the panic over hurting the baby caused me to break out my doppler and I was able to find the baby's heartbeat right away so that was super neat and we all listened to it :) So far other than that everything is good just chugging away anxious to get to the second trimester

We are all a little better over here except for the awful cough the babies both have. Being sick is NOT fun. Hope you feel better soon. |
