2nd Ultrasound

Had my second ultrasound today and then met with my Doctor, whom I adore. Today is 8 weeks, 4 days based on LMP and I believe she said I'm measuring around 8 weeks, 6 days so pretty much right on target. Even got the pleasure of seeing him/her move a little. Heartbeat was 179bpm and everything looked great. She spent a lot of time on my right ovary so I'm assuming that was the one that did it this time. I should have asked but I didn't. She said everything looked good though. Due date is still 8/25/19.

The best news I received today: We did the genetic testing with Colton as well to check for Downs and all of that jazz. Apparently it has changed since almost 4 years ago and with the testing comes gender testing now! I am totally pumped and it was a total surprise as we do it at 10 weeks. The nurse just asked if we wanted to do the genetic testing and we said yes then she told us about how it checks the gender too and I'm pretty sure my eyes popped out of the sockets. She said that a lot of the "young" women say they are only doing it for the gender check but for me it was a great surprise addition. Things sure have come a long way in 4 years, haha. We aren't the type of people to do a whole gender reveal party or anything. Just give me the results and I'll call/text people, haha.

I also discussed all of my concerns/questions. Planning another C-section. This may sound bad to some but I honestly really don't care about experiencing a vaginal birth. If that is the recommended option, then of course but the doctor said we will plan another C-section. I asked about the recovery time with tube tying versus my husband getting a vasectomy and she said that if I'm having a C-section then they will do it right there. She made it sound like I won't even notice it was done.

Also discussed the fact that I would like to go back on Zoloft after having this baby so I can hopefully nip the PPD/PPA in the butt before it starts. She said we would do that too. She told me to let her know if I'm feeling anything during the pregnancy but I am good so far. Just some nerves.

Lastly, I told her that I am not breastfeeding and everyone at the hospital needs to know that is in my chart. It was hell with Colton! I had more people man-handling my tits than I can count and I am not going through that again.

We'll tell Colton this weekend most likely. He will either be excited, not want a baby brother/sister, not understand or just not give a sh!t. We will see!

That's it for now! Going to get the normal blood work done tomorrow morning then the genetic testing done at 10 weeks, so in about 10 days, and then another ultrasound is scheduled for 2/11/19 for the nuchal translucency test and then monthly appointments thereafter.
