Baby Eli Is Here

I posted a birth announcement but just posting here too. Baby Eli Jacob was born on 8/20/19, as scheduled. Only exciting part was that the spinal did not work after 1.5 hours and 7 attempts so I had to be put out. Spinal worked on the second attempt with Colton (my first) so not sure what the issue was.

We were able to go home a day early because both Eli and I both successfully completed all of our hospital "homework" early.

Breast fed a little in the hospital and pumped some at home but I'm already over it and sticking to formula as that is just what is best for me. He got the good stuff in the beginning, haha.

Colton seems to be adjusting fine to having a little brother in the house. Lola too (our pup). Colton does get a little wild when we have visitors to draw attention but other than that he's doing OK so far. We give him small tasks to help to make him feel like a big boy/brother. He doesn't really care to hold him but that's ok lol.

Had PPD/PPA with my first and so far, although it's still early, I've been doing pretty good. I'm just terrified of it creeping up on me again but we will see. Started meds for preventative reasons the day after giving birth.

I hope all is well with everyone else! Thanks for following my last birth story (tubes were tied during my C-section :)).

So glad for an update! 7 attempts for a spinal ugh ???? otherwise it sounds like all is well. I had terrible anxiety after my first (already had a generalized anxiety disorder). I didn’t go for a walk with my first by myself until she was 3 months old! Got back on meds shortly thereafter, and it made such a huge difference. Enjoy these early days!! Big bro looks proud :)

So glad things are going well. I've been thinking about you and the PPA/PPD. I think I will start myself on the meds right after my next birth too, because I do not want to feel the way I did last time, and I want to enjoy that time with the new baby. Congratulations again, he is perfect!
