FINALLY A STRONG BFP!!!
By Lolo1176 » Posted Jul. 14, 2015 2:42pm - 366 views - 3 comments

I am copying over from CTP this specific Journal Entry written on July 9, 2015...only because it seems like a perfect beginning for my Journals...

Well, I can't believe it! I am in shock! But yep on Saturday, July 4th I saw my BFP and it wasn't a squinter!

This cycle was basically an interim between doctors...lol. I had my 3 IUI's and since nothing came of it, the doctor referred me to an Advanced Fertility Specialist. My appt was set for next week. My guess was the next step was going to be IVF. Even with insurance, it was going to be expensive. But doable if we had to.

Well my previous dr's nurse suggested that we should still try this month...because, well, you never know. So, I told DH we were still going to "try" this month and hopefully, God willing, we will get lucky. Then he broke his finger. Just a day or so before we were going to start BD'ing. So I decided to hold off for a couple more days and see if his finger was feeling any better. I know, lots of people say, it's only his finger. But it was the tip of his finger and because it was the tip the doctors didn't bother to wrap it...so it was sensitive to the touch and we like to have sex missionary style (which I have been told and read that it's easier for the spermies to go inside you if you are missionary), so the pressure leaning on his hand, well, I was concerned.

Thankfully the night I was feeling crampy, like O was coming, DH was "in the mood"...lol. But it's funny because it was late and I wasn't really in the mood. But because of the cramps and just having a feeling that if I wasn't O'ing at that time I was going to, we DTD anyways. That next morning I got my +OPK. I tell DH and he says, "Aren't you glad we did it last night now? Now you don't have to be worrying about it all night/day" I said, "Yes, I am, but we are doing it again tomorrow night anyways just to be safe". He rolled his eyes and said fine...lol.

The next 2 weeks were very normal TWW symptoms...or so it seemed. Since we weren't on meds and didn't do the HCG shot, I was able to symptom spot with the other ladies in the forum and test around the time I typically test which is CD11. That landed on the 4th of July! One of my favorite holidays! I took a test that morning and it was a BFP! Not a squinter like the ones with my previous pg's that ended in m/c's. It was between a faint and standard BFP. So, of course I waited til DH came home and shared the news with him. He was happy, but reserved. We have been down this road before. But something just told me that this was different. The test was darker and it felt right. I waited til Monday to test again and it was even darker...more of a standard test. So I called the doctors office. Came in for blood test and OMG the test was the highest I have ever seen it. The highest I have ever seen was 33 and that was around the 4w-5w mark. Well I was only 13DPO and my test this time was 136.1. Progesterone was 36.8. It was highly recommended that I continue to take the Progesterone pills. The last 2 ended because of low levels of progesterone or that's what I would like to believe. The nurse was glad to know that as soon as I saw the BFP on that Sat, July 4th, that I started the pills.

Since I took the test, and maybe even before (which is why I was feeling good about taking the test), I have been feeling light headed, slightly nauseous/queezy, peeing a lot, itchy (boobs, stomach, back), a localized pain at times in boobs, everything I eat tastes a bit different...some even bland, and I have been feeling flutters and a bit constipated.

My 2nd blood draw is Monday...which makes it a week since the last one. And my first u/s is scheduled for Aug 3rd. :)

I pray this little one sticks...Please God let this one stick...Please, please, please!

Yay, it's amazing the curve balls lives throws our way. The month I got pregnant, only had sex once and I would have NEVER thought it would have led to me getting pregnant!
