12 Weeks!

Well, 1 more week until I hit the 2nd Trimester!

It's funny though...because I am not skinny and even considered Obese to the weight sites...if it weren't for some of the symptoms and the ultrasounds I have had, I swear I wasn't pregnant because I don't look it yet. Well except for the big boobs and thick hair. I look forward to the day where I actually look pregnant. You look at some of the phone apps out there and they say today your baby is the size of a large plum. I know plums aren't that big but some women at this stage are at least showing a slight bump. And even though DH says he can tell because of the firmness of my belly, I just don't see it...well, I guess I can see what he means.

My stepdaughter decided to mention that her aunt was showing really early in her pregnancy. :( Gee thanks for the reminder that I'm fat to begin with. The only upside to this is that I am not supposed to gain that much weight during this pregnancy due to my weight to start off with. Which so far hasn't been an issue...because I just can't seem to keep up with the recommended added calories for the pregnancy. I did ask her if her Aunt was Skinny and she said not that skinny...but skinnier than me. :/

OK, done feeling sorry for myself about the weight anyways.

So Friday they took me off the Baby Aspirin and on Monday, I had to start taking Lovenox shots. Oooh let me tell you how not fun that is. Granted it doesn't hurt that much or for long. But it is definitely uncomfortable. Hopefully it will get easier. The reason for it is because I had blood clots 8 years ago. My dad also had blood clots at around the same time as I did. Both completely unrelated reasons for it. He scraped his leg and I had feet surgery done. We both had to go to the hospital...at different times. I went in for a week and about a month later my dad ended up going in. Strange how that happens. But because blood clots run in the family and now that I am pregnant they want to be extra careful and have me taking the Lovenox shot as a precautionary measure. I will do anything to make sure I have a healthy baby.

My symptoms this past week haven't been too bad...still having mood swings and at moments just don't feel right. I have a really hard time getting up in the morning as well. I heard that changes when the 2nd Trimester comes along...I am looking for to the day where I wake up feeling a million bucks. :)

I had fun bloat the first few weeks and looked bigger. By the 1st to 2nd transition I felt completely normal, everything fit fine. I couldn't want to look obviously pregnant and was kind of bummed at 20 weeks when I still wasn't noticing a difference. Oh, but how times have changed. I can't fit into anything that isn't a dress and things like shaving are so much more difficult BUT so welcomed!

I'm 24w1d and overweight too and my close family has been mentioning the last few weeks that I am showing but I'm just starting to feel that I look pregnant to the general public and not just fat so you're not alone! Glad everything is going well and you don't have many symptoms!
