32 Week Update
By SarahEMcCormick » Posted Jan. 27, 2016 10:38pm - 482 views - 4 comments

Hey everyone :) How time is flying by!

Currently, I am 32 weeks as of today - but even though I've tried to change to change the date on my profile, it won't reflect the difference in weeks that it shows - only the actual due date itself. Regardless, I can't believe I only have between now and March until my little man is here! I am so excited, but at the same time, nervous - I may have had four babies, but it's bee so long since I've had one - and newborns require ALL of you. I haven't been nervous up until this point. I don't really know why I am. But, I am! I had my last baby 11, almost 12, years ago - so a lot has changed in the world of having babies since that time. Of course, the process is still the same - but there are so many new products and so much advice I had never known. With this pregnancy, I've had to be paranoid about everything because I had a lot more problems, but now that I'm nearing the end, I am feeling a lot better and not worrying about things as much.

I don't know if I mentioned it in my last update, but I am pretty anemic and so I've been taking Ferrous Sulfate 325 mg 2x a day. It makes me feel so sick unless I take it with food. Also, I take it with OJ for better absorption.

I also contracted my first UTI this pregnancy last week sometime. :/ So, I am currently on Macrobid. I was really reluctant to take it, since, even though the midwife said it was okay, the pharmacist told me otherwise. But based upon the fact that I am not trying to go into preterm labor, and from doing my own research and finding out its a Class B med, I felt a bit better. I also spoke with a lot of women on Preggie (an app I am constantly on) and asked if they had taken it, to which they replied yes and everything worked out well for them. So, I opted to take it. I have three days left on the medicine after today. Can't wait to be done, but I am feeling a lot better!

So, we have pretty much all the clothes and things we need for Little Richi, now we just need to get him a bassinet and car seat. My father in law wants to purchase our crib for us, which is incredibly sweet of him.

The kids are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of their new baby brother. My youngest son, who I figured would have the hardest time with it, is actually the most excited! He can't wait to have someone to play with he said :) His older brother (only older by 11 months) is his best friend, but they don't quite see eye to eye or spend as much time these days because they get on each others nerves quite a bit.

I have had heartburn that is OUT OF THIS WORLD, and there's pretty much nothing that works to take it away. Sometimes, if Im lucky, Zantac will work - but at this point, its pretty rare. Worse off than the heartburn though is this dreadful Sciatica - I have it on both sides, and it's brutal to move or walk or even just to change positions. And walking has become exceptionally painful as well. The baby sits so low in my pelvis that it always feels like he is just going to fall out! Also, my boobs are always tingly, leaky, achy, have shooting pains, and sore.

I have gained a total of 50 some odd pounds with this pregnancy. I never imagined I would have gained this much. And the gaining isn't even over. :( But, its okay - because I WILL get back to my pre pregnancy weight ASAP after he is born. I plan on doing it the healthy way, of course, but I will get back to feeling great. I am ready for it!

I suppose thats all for now. I hope everyone is doing well! I hope to hear from you all in a comment xoxo

PS If you want to get in touch you can download the Preggie app and find me there - I am almost constantly online there throughout the day. You will love it. Im serious.

You are looking fabulous Sarah! I was very glad to see your updates when I finally gathered the courage to jump back on here again. You're getting so close now!!

Yeah, if I looked like that pregnant, my husband would keep me pregnant! ;-) But yay for getting so close! I know what you mean about all the new products and trends and it has only been five years for me! It's nuts how fast things change.

You look wonderful! I have had to do fs iron 650 a day most of my pregnancy (hoping to drop to 325 now that Nina is here), I found for me taking them in the evening helped with the tummy upset, and avoiding dairy for a hour before and after really helps with absorption!

I think you look GREAT in your pic. Seriously rocking the sexy, curvy pregnancy bod. I completely understand wanting to get back to "you" ASAP after birth.. You'll get there! Hopefully the last few weeks are easier on you and you can manage some relief from the sciatica and heartburn.
