Threatened MC :(

Ended up in the ER last night after a sudden gush of bright red blood with a pinky-sized chunk of tissue in it. I took that with me, just in case it proved useful. I knew as soon as I saw it that I had probably miscarried from all the stress I've been dealing with lately.

I didn't actually miscarry, as it turns out. Not yet, anyway. By the time the doctor did a pelvic exam, probably 45-60 minutes after the initial scare, there was only a trickle of red. Got like 20-30 minutes of ultrasounds for it, though. Took me at least 5 minutes of agonizing silence to muster the courage to ask what was on the screen. She turned it so I could see it and I was honestly shocked. My sea monkey -- well, my gummy bear, now (tech thought that comparison was funny) -- was measuring right on time at 9w2d and had a heart rate of 172.

So... needless to say, I'm just baffled. I've heard of heavy bleeding and even passing clots still resulting in a healthy pregnancy, but passing a fairly sizable piece of tissue? It was easily large enough to have been my gummy bear and that's why I freaked out.

The bleeding was all but gone by the time the ER cut me loose at 2 AM. Nothing left but pale pinkish spotting and only when I wipe. I wasn't able to go to work today like I'd planned, seeing as I couldn't fall asleep until 6 AM and I was supposed to be there at 8. My job has been stressing me to death this month and I wouldn't be surprised if my body is trying to miscarry because of it. I wish I could quit, but then I'd lose my health insurance. :/

I just hope my gummy bear can hang on until I find another job.

*hugs* That happened with my mom with me. She was on bed rest from weeks 12-20 because she was bleeding and passing clots and no one knew why, but I made it fine! :-) Here's sending good thoughts to you.
