Thursday night around 6:30p I began to notice I was bleeding lightly w/ regular menstrual cramping. I also noticed some watery discharge. It wasn't much so I took a Tylenol and went to bed. Fri morning there was no change so I stayed home from work in bed with the cramps all day. Around 5p I noticed more watery discharge hubby and I called dr and they asked us to come in. We went in around 630p and they did a amniotic fluid test. Inconclusive. A second test was done - positive. I was 1/2 cm dilated. Luckily we had brought hospital bag because it was imperative to start an induction immediately since the bag of waters had been leaking for 24 hours. Admitted to hospital around 8p. Took cytotec orally over the course of a few hrs. Labor was not progressing quickly enough so around 9a on Sat morning they broke my 2nd bag of waters and started Pitocin. I was 1cm dilated at 9a. Labor intensified incredibly at this time. I could not manage the contractions - no time in between to rest. I asked for pain medicine which helped little. About 1p I asked for the epidural. At 3p I was checked and determined to be 10cm. I started pushing and was making great progress, however the baby was in distress on each push. The heartbeat was slowing to 50 and back up to 150 regularly. The dr concluded I was not going to be able to deliver quickly enough based on its current station to safely arrive before the distress became dangerous. So I was prepped for an emergency c section and Reese arrived 3:54p. I was disappointed at the sequence of events leading to the birth but it was all a moot point when they put my little girl on my chest. I am recovering well from the csction and have already lost 20lbs in 1week! We are enjoying this once in a lifetime chance to care for our first sweet baby and getting more and more sleep every day :) We have never been happier in our entire lives. This baby has been our hope for 3 long yrs. Praise be to GOD!

Congrats! I had a c-section due to fetal distress during contractions with my first, I know it's disappointing! But obviously you and your dr made the decision that was best for baby, and she is so adorable!
