BOY! Here is the story. I guess the blood draw last Thursday was sufficient because the results came in today (Tuesday 7/16/19). Maternal fetal medicine called me this morning [14w6d pregnant] and said all of the results were genetically normal with a 1 in 10,000 chance of being wrong. Then she asked if I would like to know what the sex was and I took a deep breath and said YES and she said the results are consistent with a BOY! I cried such tears of happiness. I love my baby no matter what but it's a special feeling of closeness to know what is brewing in there :) I immediately called my husband on my work phone to come in to my office and he came right over and I said any final guesses and he said girl? and I said NO! BOY!!!! he was so excited :) Best day ever. I had so many clues to boy and such a strong instinctive feeling but I was still shocked. The heart rate was slower than my first, my hcg numbers were higher (which they say is associated with boy), the baby moved like crazy on the scans, the scan LOOKED like a boy face, I had lower sickness overall that wrapped up sooner, and my cravings haven't been as out of control as my girl preg. So those old wives tails are true. The Chinese and mayan calendars were both WRONG as they both predicted girl! Since I got the results just before lunchtime we were able to go home and tell my daughter and mother in law right away. MIL was shocked and excited, my daughter said NO. LOL!!! then she was super cuddly to me the rest of the hour.
