I was carrying pretty high for most of my pregnancy and that actually caused a lot of rib pain and heartburn. Now that the baby has dropped and is low, I have more hip pain (and like you especially as I sleep at night- it wakes me up) and I feel my pelvis "clicking" when I move and sometimes that hurts as well. Can't say either is a problem, but there are definitely different symptoms depending on how you carry it seems!
