First Ultrasound
Bit of spotting last night so NHS Direct sent us to A&E at Wansbeck. Dr was utterly useless, but booked me in for a scan the following day at 12:15pm (11/08/14) at Wansbeck. External ultrasound showed nothing, so they did an internal scan and we got to see the baby's heart beating - very glad I made Col come along with me, even if it's been a faff for him around work! Gave us a pic of the scan, even though you can see pretty much nothing on it! Baby only measures 4.7mm today, so they think I'm between 5 & 6 weeks along :-) No more spotting since last night and the fact they saw the heartbeat is a really good sign :-)

Told My Boss About My Pregnancy
Asked Andy for a chat as soon as I got into the office. Told him I was pregnant and he said 'that's good news' then you could almost see his face drop when he realised what it meant! Told him I didn't want anyone else to know since I'm only 5 weeks along. Said they've never had to get maternity cover before but obv will for me. I emailed Petrofarce HR to ask if the risk assessment could be delayed until I'm 12 weeks and if not, if it can be kept completely confidential, since I said I won't be doing any site work from now on - HR bod is on hol until next week, so will see what they say. Weirdly feels more real and exciting since I've told someone other than Col! :-)

Called the GPs today too and got my booking appointment arranged for August 20th :-)

First Prenatal Appointment
Pre-booking appointment in Morpeth, which turned out to be a group session! Got my notes and pregnancy pack, and advised to tell work soon since I'll prob need to alter my work (inc no more long hours!) and book my 'booking' appointment for 2-3 weeks time.

Second Positive Pregnancy Test
Well, you have to do more than one, don't you!

First Positive Pregnancy Test
Less then 24 hours after having an ultrasound and getting a gyne referral from the GP due to my short luteal phase issue (the month before was only 7 days!) look what happened......

Told Husband/Partner
Showed him the positive test - first response was 'what does that mean?' :-) Three days later and I don't think it's sunk in for him yet!
