On November 24, 2012 at 37 weeks 4 days pregnant
Finished the Nursery
The room is an office with a built in desk. It was also junk storage for the last five years. We spent the whole weekend cleaning out the junk. Crib is up and is ready for baby.
I didn´t get the room remodel like I hoped but DH thinks leaving the desk and bookshelves with help resale since we plan on moving in 5 years.

Husband/Partner Felt Baby Move for the First Time
Daddy had been refusing to try to feel the baby move because it was too early and he doesn't know what he is feeling. Well last night, Mr. Man was moving so much that I could feel the bumps in my belly on the outside. I had Daddy feel my belly and we laid really still and he finally felt the LO move. His feet must be resting on the right side of my belly and his head and arms are on the left. I feel most of the movement on the right.
Baby is the length of a spaghetti squash and he has to be almost 1 pound so his movements are going to be very noticeable now. He was really, really quiet yesterday until after about a 1/2 hour in bed and that's when he starting moving all around. He also woke up when I went to the bathroom at 5 am because he was moving when I laid back down in bed.

New Doctor Office visit
I decided to switch practices and so far I am glad that I did. Met with the NP today who is a friend of a friend that I just met at the friend's baby shower. The office staff is really nice and I meet the OB on Sept 6th.
Baby boy is measuring a little big @ 22 weeks and I am 21 weeks 4 days. He is kicking and moving up a storm. Heard the nice strong heartbeat, darn, forgot to ask what it was. It was 155 at the last scan.

Announced Baby's Gender to Family
Amelia's birthday was 7/23 and we had her party on 7/28. We had her announce her little brother.
She had a gift bag with a "little brother" onesie that she pulled out just before opening her other presents to say what Mommy was getting her in December.
Everyone gasped, cheered, and clapped. We are so excited to get our 1 girl, 1 boy!! Yea!!!

Found Out Baby's Gender
IT'S A BOY!!! We could see his "he-ness" very well on the scan. I asked the tech how sure she was and she said "He'd be a pretty funny looking girl!"Now onto the decision for circumcision...

Second Ultrasound
This ultrasound was for a genetic testing called nuchal translucency. The test is to determine the resk for chromosonal defects like Down's syndrome. The higher amount of fluid, the higher the risk for defect. The threshold is 3 mm for high risk and I have seen some studies that abnormalities are anything beyond 2.5. Baby bean measured 1.3 so it was a positive (meaning low risk for defect) score! Hurray! The midwife was very, very positive that this was in the great range of normal so I am just so excited that baby is thriving.He was also jumping for joy in there as you could see on the screen. Amelia was just in awe of seeing her baby sibling for the first time. She can't wait for the next scan at the end of July.

Felt My Baby Move for the First Time
Lying on the couch on my side with my knees slightly bent, I felt the tiniest of flutters. I kept feeling it over and over so I know it wasn't gas. I have been feeling it on and off for the last few weeks. I'd say this is my first baby movement. Sunday, May 27th, it was tickling me and I couldn't help but giggle.

First Ultrasound
I admit it, I cried when I saw the baby and then the heartbeat. My mom was with me because George and Amelia were home sick. They will both be attending my 12 week sono.

First Prenatal Appointment
It was a long appointment and full of dos but mostly don'ts of pregnancy. The big blood draw also happened and she got me on the first try. My veins don't usually cooperate but they did today! Midwife was Mahrie Amelia which is so funny that it was the opposite of my Amelia Marie! She was nice and answered all my questions. I am bummed that the chances of VBAC are slim the closer I get to my due date so Baby you'd better be early! I also have to have an OB deliver which is another bummer because I don't feel they give the support needed to facilitate a vaginal birth. I am thinking about hiring a doula.
