Tristan James's Birth Story

I was 1 week overdue and scheduled for an induction. The night before I had a foley balloon inserted above my cervix to help dilate. It was pretty painful and contractions started soon after it was inserted. They gave me ambien to help me sleep through the night, which was wonderful. The foley balloon fell out at 2:30AM when I got up to use the restroom, which is what it's suppose to do. I checked into the hospital that morning at 8am and was 5cm dilated and 80% effaced and Tristan was at -1 station. I had complete back labor. ALL the pain referred to my lower back. I can not explain the pain. It was unworldly. 15 hours later while I was in the transition phase and delusional, they said I made no progress due to the pain and they talked me into an epidural saying that it would speed up the process. Literally, 30 minutes after the epidural took affect, I had dilated to 10cm and was ready to push. Unfortunately, I couldn't feel ANYTHING so part of me thinks that contributed to most of the damage that was done. Plus, I had a super impatient midwife who had her hand in me pulling him with every push. She did not do an episiotomy, so I tore EXTREMELY bad upward all the way to my urethra. My husband saw it happen and I told him not to sugar coat it for me. He's a medic, so he knows bad tears from what's normal. Apparently mine's beyond normal. I bled quite a bit, but they patched me up in good time. My son came out with his head turned, but he was and still is perfect in every way. Very minimal jaundice which is great considering the high altitude we live in. I may have had some bad damage, but I would go through it all over again just to have this beautiful boy in my life. So completely blessed!

Things are going very well! Got a fetal heart monitor for at home use (sonoline b) from ebay and now I get to listen to the baby each night. I need to start charting the heartbeats =) I hope you are doing well. Did your husband leave? I can't believe how close we all are to the second trimester! THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING!!! Any cravings yet?

Thank you! She is a hand full. I love my daughter! Her name is Trinity Anne! She is 3 years old! An my wild child lol! Yeah I have had dreams where I have the baby and it's twins. Lmbo! I know it's one and so does my husband but I told him and he was like that would be a blessing. You after having two babies past one at 16 weeks ( cord knot ) and one at 8 weeks. Anyways. I was the same way about everything is real as soon as we heard the heart beat. I think the ultrasound tech was freaked out when I started sobbing. I know one thing... I have never been praying so hard in my life. I pray for all the time that we make it full term but I try not to stress as it not good. So prayers for you and your little one. May god watch over us during our Pregnancy. Just know I am always here if you need to vent or anything. Well I hope to hear from you soon

I am sold to hear about not getting an ultrasound. It was weird fore because normal they want you to meet with the doctor and then get one. I didnt complain. I was happy to see my dinosaur as my daughter is now calling the baby. She was calling the baby milk lol. An I hope you next appointment is the ultrasound. I go back August 13(I think) and then one the 20th for a genetic scan of the baby. My doctor wants to make sure that everything is growing and the baby is healthy. An I have to go for bloom work this morning. An then I am coming home to relax. I hope you are doing good and let's keep in contact. Talk to you later

I was pretty nervous at my first prenatal too. I have no clue why I was so nervous. It was like I was afraid they were going to say "false alarm" or something lol. I'm sure all will be fine with your appointment specially where you are having symptoms. M/S and symptoms mean healthy pregnancy!! Good luck and let me know how it goes.
