Had my 12 week appointment on Friday. All my blood work came back normal from the last appointment and we got to hear the baby's heart beat for the first time! That was such a huge relief since I've been so paranoid that something was wrong. I really wish I could stop thinking and worrying about something bad happening with this pregnancy cause it's driving me insane! It's gotten a little better since I got to hear the heart beat and that it was a strong, loud 166bpm.
I think if I didn't have to wait another 8 weeks to have an ultrasound again I wouldn't be so nervous. It's already been 5 weeks since I had one! >< I mean I'm glad that everything is going so good that it's not medically necessary to have an ultrasound but it would make me feel better to see the baby and know everything is ok in there! lol
I think what's really upsetting me today is that we were going to have a 3D ultrasound at this Baby Day 2011 event this afternoon, but it didn't happen. The doctor's office who set up the ultrasounds only allotted for 80 people to get scanned but that was never announced before the event so lots and lots of women got turned away, even ones who were there an hour before the doors even opened. I think it's pretty ridiculous that they advertise a free 3D ultrasound for all attendants and then send almost everyone away empty handed! My sister and my best friend, who are also pregnant, were with me and hoping to get one too but they also got turned away. We're all pretty upset and angry so it was not a good day.
On the upside, I'm starting not to feel so crappy. Started an antibiotic for a bacterial infection I've not been able to treat before this week, so I think that's playing a part. I've lost 11lbs so far thanks to horrible heartburn and wicked IBS attacks but the doctor says it's ok since I've already got some extra weight. I'm just grateful and thankful that the baby is doing good, even though I'm an emotional and physical mess! :)
