18 Weeks!

Today I'm 18w 2d!

I was thinking after the last journal entry I wrote that I probably sound like I hate being pregnant to anyone who reads these. This is definitely not the case! Even with all the pain I've had it's nothing compared to the pain I felt when I was told I was infertile, or when I was told I'd never have babies, or when I was told I'd never carry to term, or even just two weeks before I found out when I was so depressed at the thought of never having children. I wouldn't trade anything in the world for being pregnant with my sweet little nugget!! :)

Anyway, the last couple weeks have been interesting. I've still been having an outrageous amount of pain and apparently 17 weeks was time for me to get morning sickness for the first time. I was so nauseous I couldn't eat hardly anything and spent many hours hugging the toilet drooling like crazy for that week. I definitely feel for the girls (like my best friend) who have horrible morning sickness! It seems to have gone away for now the past couple days and I've been able to eat again...yay! Also been able to get out of the house for the first time in weeks even though it makes me incredibly tired and I pay for it at night with lots of pain and cramping.

When I saw the OB last I'd lost about 18 lbs. since I got pregnant. She didn't say anything about it and I am definitely not trying to lose weight by any means, but I'm starting to get a little concerned that I keep losing it. Will have to make sure this is a conversation I have with the OB next visit at the end of the month. Or maybe on Monday when I go in to have this excessive yellow discharge checked out that I've randomly started having.

Best thing that's happened this week was feeling nugget kick for the first time! We were driving home in the car listening to the radio when Notion by Kings of Leon came on and about 30 seconds into the song, I got a big kick right under my belly button! Made me jump and go oh!! Then it happened again and I realized it was the baby and we cranked the radio up. I got kicked all the way home and even more again later that night when I laid down for bed. It was really exciting! Now several times a day I'm feeling kicks and what feels like the baby turning over or doing summer salts. It's really weird but amazing all at the same time! It's really great to feel the baby in there really moving instead of just the flutters and twinges. Makes it even more exciting and real!!
